Reimage Review – PC Maintenance Software To Automate Home Computer Repair And Maintenance

The Reimage online repair service has been helping Windows XP owners for years to make home PC repairs for themselves. This Reimage review covers three years using this PC maintenance software to automate registry and operating system repairs.

As I write and work from home it has become important for me to maintain & repair my computers for myself. However in 2007 I got a fatal blue screen error which had me stumped as to how to resolve it (the exception stated the registry had been corrupted). Following some research Reimage reviews had mentioned it was able to automate fixing this solution so I gave it a try.

The interesting part for this application, something I had not seen before, is that it runs from within Internet Explorer, as a web service so doesn’t require CDs. The application scans for faults to the registry, application files, hardware files (especially DLLs) and operating system. In my case, it reported the registry had over 90 errors (missing/poorly set/orphaned keys) which had caused the registry hive to be corrupted and the blue screen to occur.

The repair stage saw Reimage reset registry keys based on their online database of healthy configurations. A final reboot and the laptop was back working, all within about 35 minutes.

I have subsequently used it on two other Windows XP machines. One was just old and hadn’t had software upgrades (especially hardware drivers) in years so it needed an overhaul. The Reimage repair was able to install newer versions of over 100 application and hardware files and the PC did run faster afterward in general use & web-use.

I still like to attempt the computer repair and maintenance for myself when issues occur with my Windows XP computers. But it is reassuring to know that if all else fails then I can fall back to using Reimage to automate repairs without needing to reinstall Windows or lose any personal data.
