Types of Franchise, an Introduction

Franchise sales have been very popular these days. Many people considered this as the most beneficial method of running a business. In many cases, when people want to run this type of business, they need two parties to cooperate. As a matter of fact, franchise sales are basically concept of opening branches of business by making partner with other investors. By doing this, both the franchiser and the franchisee are able to gain benefits. For the franchiser, it appears that he can get the opportunity to expand his business, meanwhile for the franchisee; he can have the chance to experience a business at the same time he can gain the profits.

Basically, there are four types of franchise sales, they are: solo franchise, investment, retail franchise, and distribution franchise. Solo franchise is business methods that can you do from your own home with low capital but still profitable depends on the goals that you set. On the other hand, investment is a type of franchise that is suitable for those who have lots of money as a capital. By taking this method as a franchise option, you will let someone run the business without your control. You will only receive the profit reports regularly. Retail franchise is an opportunity to sell products directly from a store that is merchandised by the franchisor. The last is the distribution franchise. In this type of franchise sale, the franchisee sells the franchisor manufactured products. This type of franchise can usually be found in the drinks and automobiles industries.

Lanyards Have Many Uses

Lanyards have many uses and most of us have seen them used in one form or another. Your PE teacher had a whistle on a lanyard and hung it around his neck where it was nice and close in order to inflict the most pain possible. Referees also use a whistle lanyard and hopefully they are inflicting less pain than the PE teacher, at least less personal pain. If your team loses on a last second whistle, you may be left wishing the lanyard had broken and let the whistle fall to the ground. Basically lanyards are used to secure something to a strap to keep it from getting lost. Most of the time we see neck lanyards, but there are also wrist lanyards that people use.

Colors for lanyards are totally the choice of the customer as they are available in every color imaginable and from different materials to make them handy for everyone. Simple round cord lanyards are generally used for holding name badges and other simple objects. They are typically thin and very inexpensive. Since they are thin and sometimes made from round elastic they won’t support much weight and a name badge is about the weight limit for them.

Thicker corded lanyards are available and this the kind of lanyard that holds the referees whistle. Again since they are not real thick, more like a round shoelace they may not be comfortable to wear while supporting a heavy object. Another drawback to the corded strap lanyard is that there is no room for advertising or logos to be imprinted on them.

Wide strap lanyards are the choice for promotional items as they can easily be imprinted or even woven with a corporate loge or trade name. They are also more comfortable to wear and generally show up at trade shows and as gifts from salespeople to remember their company. That’s really a good idea because the lanyard hanging around you neck with advertising on it is always in your line of sight.

Sales Management Drives Your Business

Business owners and executives focus on the wrong things sometimes.  There are many departments that managers have to devote time and energy to work on, but many don’t know which ones they should attend to first.  Here’s one thing I would say, don’t ever neglect your duties in sales management.

Sales is what drives business and helps it grow.  That is why sales is often the highest paying job in a lot of companies.  This seems obvious but we can easily get distracted by a million other things that need to be done.

Even though it’s so important, it’s often the thing that business owners especially ignore.  It’s not an easy thing.  Most managers didn’t go to college, then get their MBA so they can do sales.  But if you want to have a successful business, you have to sell.  It’s not an option.

Even if you are not the one selling, you must hire and manage sales people properly.  It will be hard to do that if you have never sold before.  Learn how to do sales and to do it well so that you can turn around and hire good sales people and be able to manage them well.  Do this for the sake of your business.

There are two kinds of sales jobs out there.  You have inside sales jobs and then you have outside sales.  Each has it’s own unique way you have to manage them.

If you’re starting out in managing sales people, I would say to start out hiring inside sales reps.  They are generally easier to manage because they work in your office with you.  Outside sales reps, unless you know and trust them, might be a little harder to manage since they are not in your scope.

Sometimes, if you really do need outside sales reps, you should hire them as inside sales and promote them to outside sales when you know you can trust them to get the job done.  If they can’t do inside sales, they won’t be able to do it out in the field.

Don’t neglect your sales management duties.  It is probably the single most important role you play in your company or small business.  Be vigilant in it and you will be successful.

Trade Show Display Boards Can Drive Business

For any company that frequently promotes at a trade show, it is important that the display that is used is professional and current. The company will want to attract the most traffic and attention, so having a display that is shoddy or out of date will not get you a good deal of traffic to the stand.

When customers are at a trade show, they usually make quick and snap decisions as to which booths to visit. If something does not catch their eye, they may pass right by your display.

The first thing that is important to keep in mind is simplicity. For a company display, the message as well as the area needs to be clean and simple. A busy display or a cluttered display table can be distracting and dilute the actual message or product.

There should be a clear message for the trade show display boards. The customer needs to be able to get the gist of your services quickly. Lots of text or conflicting images will diminish this. If your company has the resources, it is always best to have the display board professionally done.

A design company should have previous experience with creating displays. It is good to go with a company that also is familiar with your particular industry. This way, they will be able to best represent your company.

The type of display is of importance. If you will be traveling with the display, you will want a different type as opposed to one that will remain on display and will not have to be moved or broken down frequently.

Most trade shows have similar sized spaces for you to set up in. They will usually include a six or eight foot tables, so many companies opt for table top displays. These set up quickly with folding pieces and usually are compact enough to fit into a sturdy box that is perfect for traveling.

Banner stands rollup for easily transportation. These models come in a variety and sizes and can be used sitting on the floor or on a table top. The display is screen printed onto the canvas to your exact specifications and set up is a breeze. It rolls up very similar to a projector screen. The only drawback would be that the image on the screen is permanent. If you want to change your display, you have to get an entirely new one.

No matter what display is chosen, it needs to be eye catching and modern. This will be sure to get the customers to your stand.

The Need For Better Fraud Regulation

Fraud is a big problem. Unless you are a victim you probably will not give the subject of fraud a second thought! That is the same as for any bad thing, like cancer for example. You know it exists, you know it is bad but you never think about it unless it affects you.

The trouble is that this complacency is exactly what feeds fraud. In the same way as if you are not concerned about your health, unhealthy living can lead to a heart attack and ignoring the risk of fraud can lead to you or your business succumbing.

Most people think of fraud as a boring victimless crime. However this is very far from the truth. In the UK over £30 billion is lost to the economy every year, and this does not include money laundering from other crimes such as drug trafficking. Many people lose their life savings to the fraudster and are driven to crime and destitution or worse, can even commit suicide.

There is a huge black economy that nobody fully knows the extent of – of businesses employing ranks of self employed persons who do not pay any tax and many who are also drawing benefits illegally from the state. Many people on disability benefits are working away as if they enjoyed full health.

There are 1000s of people who investigate fraud. This includes a few policemen and an awful large number of public sector employees within councils, hospitals and other public organisations that are good at ticking boxes but relatively ineffective when it comes to actually pursuing the fraudster.

The police employ about 400 full time officers to investigate fraud throughout the whole of the UK – to cover all $30 billion of the cost! No wonder that 90% of fraud goes undetected or unprosecuted. Investigation and court budgets continue to be slashed and yet there is a solution if confiscation recovery from the culprits is enhanced and the quality of the investigation resources increased. At present most police forces are reluctant to employ qualified forensic accountants owing to the cost – yet they are cost effective in their use.

There needs  to be more coordination within the field of fraud regulation or the fraud levels in the vulnerable western world will rise as the fraudsters see this as an easy crime and the low chance of getting caught is an acceptable business risk.  If there is only a one in ten chance of getting caught most fraudsters would see this as an attractive proposition!

Tips on How To Choose An Effective Postcard Design

If you’re looking for the proper postcard design to use for business purposes or other uses, you can easily get overwhelmed and confused as to the reason that these designs come in huge numbers and a wide array of categories. You’ll get to see designs that are simple and others that are very loud and extravagant. With this fact, choosing the right design for your marketing endeavors is not always an easy task that you can accomplish within a few minutes, but it’s a very significant thing to do if you want your campaign to be successful. In here we shall discuss some tips you can follow that will help enable you to come up with a design choice that will not be just professional looking but very effective as well.

The first thing to consider would be the size. If you’re thinking that a bigger postcard is more effective, then you’re absolutely right. This is so since the larger the postcard size is, the bigger the number of people you will be able to reach. There’s nothing better than a jumbo-sized postcard to catch your clientele’s attention while they are going about their mail, making them take a second glance at your material. Aside from the amount of attention that a big postcard can get, you also get more space to write messages on. If you want to play safe in this aspect, you can always go for standard postcard sizes.

The next thing to take note of would be the postcard template. In here, you want to choose something that has a striking image that grabs attention and invites a second glimpse but you need to make sure that you don’t go overboard with the design you select.

The last thing to consider would be the reason as to why you’re sending the cards out. If you’re intending to announce an engagement party, a wedding, or other affairs, then a good Save the Date postcard template will work best for you. On the other hand, you can go for something that is industry specific if you intend to send these out for business objectives.

Getting Started With Direct Email Campaigns

Building a new mailing list for direct email campaigns is important in order for you to have a solid foundation for your online business. It is a way for you to let the online users know about the products and services that you offer. One easy way to build list is through direct email marketing. It may take time to build your lists with this kind of method, but it becomes worth the effort in the long run. To create your list, here are some tips to help you get started.

1. Look for some forums relevant to your business and make sure that the forum is authentic and responsive. Places like this are good repositories for people who would most likely to get interested with the services that you offer. You have to create an account on these forums and set your best foot forward in marketing your business. Be ethical and look smart.

2. When you already have an account, you have to create a signature that contains a tag line or a banner that links to your site’s subscription form. You can use email campaign software to create these types of subscription pages very easily. Overselling is a big no, as people will only ignore you if you overdo your signature.

3. Be active on these forums. There’s no use in joining one if you’re not going to be active. Participate on the discussions, ask questions, give answers and make friends with everybody. Doing this will tell the people that you’re a real online marketer and that your business is credible. If somebody asks you about your products, do not post the details on the forum threads unless you’ve been active for more than six months; send a PM instead.

Spending time with these forums can help you gain friends that eventually can turn into potential customers. When you feel that it’s about time to market your products, you can start collecting emails and build your mailing list; and eventually send your newsletters to these email addresses.
